Why Animas High School?

          Animas High School is a tuition free charter high school in Durango Colorado. Animas High is one of the 3 public high schools in Durango. Choosing Animas was not at all difficult for me. For a long time, I had known that I was not interested in attending Durango High School because I was not a fan of the size of the school as well as the strength of relationships and connections within the school. I like Animas because it is a small community where I am academically challenged. I have friends who are amazing and unique and funny, make me laugh, and daily challenge my thoughts, opinions, and perspective. Animas is a unique school because of the project based approach that we take to learning but also because it is about challenges. The people and community within the walls of Animas challenges me, but Animas High encourages me to be equally challenged by the people, community, and world outside of those walls.
